Short version: the system:has:keyword is a powerful and little known feature of del.icio.us that can help you retrieve, count and evaluate special tags.

Long version: let’s see two very special urls mentioned on the support forum that delve into the more social aspects of bookmarking at Delicious.com.
You can try them by just swapping ‘account’ with your own username (if you have one, that is).

delicious.com/account/system:has:for

Explanation: this url will show all of the bookmarks one has forwarded to other del.icio.us users with the official “for:” tag and will also show the grand total (1076 in my case).
Usefulness: you can check which how much bookmarks you have spamm^^ forwarded to people in your network.

delicious.com/account/system:has:via

Explanation: if you use the unofficial this url will show all of the bookmarks one has “credited” to other del.icio.us users and will also show the grand total (around 290 in my case).
Usefulness: you can do a search on which and how many bookmarks on any topic you have actually got from other del.icio.us users and hence also the usefulness (to you) of its social networking features.

Stephen Shankland writes on Webware

[…] top searches of 2008 for [Yahoo’s] Delicious service, which lets people store, tag, and share bookmarks.
Nowhere on the list was Britney Spears, the prevailing top result for mainstream search engines.

On a less ironic note: expecting to find Britney Spears’ latest misadventures bookmarked on Delicious is like expecting to find a neurolinguistic paper on the top page of Digg. It’s simply just not going to happen.

È cominciato a luglio con l’aggiornamento del software e del layout anche un rinnovamento della grafica sul blog di Delicious.

Arrivati a dicembre possiamo constatare che se prima l’iconografia dei post era un mix eterogeneo il nuovo corso prevede perlopiù illustrazioni più coerenti tra di loro e che giocano con i colori e le funzioni del servizio di bookmarking sociale.
Ecco di seguito quelle viste in questi cinque mesi con link alle rispettive entry sul blog.

Nota: l’unica eccezione a questo nuovo design sinora è stata:

che cita scherzosamente, anche nel titolo, il satellite-arma dei cattivi nella saga di Star Wars (Guerre Stellari). ;-)

In questi giorni sono “Guest Editor” sulla versione italiana di Download Chip.eu

Il merito (o la colpa, fate voi) è del mio amico e caporedattore su varie testate Andrea Grassi, che cura questo sito-risorsa in italiano sul software e mi ha richiesto una selezione di software e utility per… ebbene sì, Delicious.com

Sul sito trovate dieci schermate di programmi per Windows, Mac e Linux (o semplicemente multipiattaforma) e alcune aggiunte per browser che ho selezionato tra le tantissime disponibili e spero aiutino a usare o sfruttare meglio il servizio di bookmarking sociale di cui così spesso parlo.
Ogni scheda ha una schermata esplicativa, una descrizione e -ovviamente- un link per il download.

Fatene buon uso!

Che in Delicious Mobile ci sia dell’altro, molto altro in arrivo, lo si intuisce da quanto scritto dagli addetti sul blog nonché sul forum.

Mentre lavoravo all’articolo per Mytech ho compiuto un’esplorazione a tappeto, indagando sulle cose ancora “nascoste” ma foriere di novità.
