Right now the Mac edition of the Chrome browser unfortunately doesn’t allow its users to add bookmarklets nor to modify existing bookmarks.

This means that it is impossible to install the Delicious bookmarklets that make so fast and easy adding bookmarks and using the service’s features.

However, there is a workaround: by modifying the file in which Google’s browser saves its bookmarks you can get a Delicious-enabled Chrome (or Chromium).

Here’s a proof:

Requirements:

-) An account on Delicious.com

-) A Macintosh with an Intel processor

-) An installed copy of Google Chrome for Mac

The How-to:

1) If running, quit your copy of Google Chrome or Chromium

2) Download this file:
http://www.nicoladagostino.net/altro/bookmarksfile.txt

3) Rename it Bookmarks (with a capital B and no extension)

4) Go to
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/
(if you are using Google Chrome)
or to
~/Library/Application Support/Chromium
(if you are using Chromium)

5) Take out and/or replace the Bookmarks file which is in this directory with the download one

6) Launch Google Chrome o Chromium

7) Verify if the Bookmarks menu lists ” -> Delicious ” and ” my Delicious bookmarks ”

8) Login on Delicious.com

9) Send me some feedback if the two links work ;-)

Ovvero: Getting Things Done.

Segnalo che su NicolaDagostino.net ho ripubblicato tre articoli usciti originariamente su Total Computer (ciao Andre!) in uno speciale dedicato alle regole della produttività secondo David Allen, l’ideatore del GTD:

1. GTD: elabora, organizza, controlla e… fai!
   E-Mail, appuntamenti, scartoffie, progetti: ora c’è un sistema per domare impegni e cose da fare. Grazie all’archiviazione ed alle liste, che diventano pratiche, organizzate e dirette. Sull’agenda, sul PC, sul palmare e su Internet.
2. GTD: Un contesto un po’ più chiaro
   Il metodo Getting Things Done applicato alle email in Microsoft Outlook grazie a un’utile aggiunta.
3. GTD: dalla carta al palmare
   Un sistema di archiviazionee promemoria semplice, pratico e versatile. Per non dover pensare a tutto e concludere un po’ di più, anche grazie all’aiuto del palmare.

Dopo averci riflettuto per alcuni giorni avviso che per vari motivi ho deciso di non partecipare al WordCamp che si terrà il 22 e 23 maggio 2009 a Melà^^Milano.

Ho quindi cambiato in “no” le voci Partecipo e Speech (sic) nel mio profilo e rimosso l’intervento, che volevo fare, intitolato “Da WordPress a boo.kmark.it: come trasformare un cms in uno spazio di e sul bookmarking”.

Spero di poter parlare di boo.kmark.it più avanti, condividendo magari in altra sede esperienze ed informazioni accumulate. Per questa volta passo e preferisco dedicarmi ad altro.

Problema: volevo un backup della lista delle cartelle dei software sull’iPhone (o iPod touch) in /root/private/var/mobile/Applications e delle corrispondenze nomi/contenuti.

Qualche dettaglio: Apple usa gli UUID (come anche Mozilla per i profili utente, se ho capito bene) e quindi i nomi delle directory sono umanamente poco intellegibili, del tipo /6A0EA9EC-F366-428B-BE5D-FC#14D9 (è quella di Pano) mentre dentro c’è il software nome.app (ad esempio Pano1.app).

Soluzione: grazie a Netatalk (uno dei motivi per fare jailbreak) ho montato la partizione root dell’iPhone ho provato a fare prima un copia e incolla e poi a trascinare la directory sulla stampante di scrivania. Entrambi questi metodi però non mantengono la struttura UUID/contenuto.
Ho risolto posizionandomi in Applications con il Terminale (dopo ‘cd’ invece di digitare il percorso ho trascinato l’icona nella finestra dell’iPhone) e poi ho eseguito quanto suggerito in un commento a http://www.macworld.com/article/48459/2005/12/finderprint.html
e cioé il comando:

ls -RFlh > ~/Desktop/mobappcontents.txt


Per straf^^ sicurezza oltre a un TXT con un altro comando

ls -RFlh | lp

ho “stampato” sulla stampante di default e grazie a grazie a CUPS-PDF creato una versione in PDF della lista. :)

Nota bene: i risultati non sono istantanei. Ci vogliono diversi minuti per completare la generazione dei file, a seconda del numero di software installati sul dispositivo.
