Deliciously private networking
If I’m not mistaken del.icio.us just added a new network privacy option. del.icio.us‘ social, pardon, content networking side is not totally devoid of control on privacy matters.
In the box on top of the right sidebar there’s a “Network options” link. When clicked it unfolds and offers a choice between showing or hiding the logged-in user’s network from other people.
The help/FAQ page has been updated and in the a “Network, Subscriptions, and Inbox” section there is a new paragraph:
How can I make my Network not visible to other people?
Your network is visible to other people by default. If you do not want others to see to whom you are connected, you can hide your network. The link to this setting can be found in your Settings page or via the network options link on your Network page.
It is also noteworthy to add that during 2007 on the (old) there have been at least two threads on the (old) Delicious mailing list on Yahoo! Groups tackling the privacy issues. One discussion was about Network privacy and the other about Hiding/blocking fans and the new feature addresses one of the complaints/wishes.
p.s. There is also a new “Manage Network bundles” option to organize the people in your Network into groups.
It points to secure.delicious.com/settings/network/bundle
More on that later.

That option has been there for a long time (called “network privacy” in the old Delicious), but it’s still good to point out. : )
Oops, my mistake. :!
Is the “network bundles” option also an old one?
nda
No, that was new with Delicious 2.0.
