ZFS for Mac OS X: binaries and source code available

[digg-me] I just read on MacDailyNews that Noel Dellofano, who is part of the ZFS dev team at Apple, has published a post on Mac OS Forge that goes:

So Christmas comes a little late this year, but at last it’s here! We now have a new page as part of the wiki that will hold the latest ZFS source code and ZFS binaries all for your downloading pleasure:

Yes indeed, he she is making available binaries and source code (plus instructions) of the ZFS filesystem for Mac OS X.

Rejoyce, happy hacking and… use at your own risk!

Update: thanks to the comments on my OSNews submission of the news I found out Dellofano was previously at Sun, working among other things on… you guessed it, ZFS.

p.s. If you’d like to read more about ZFS there’s a nice explanation of the filesystem’s potential in my interview with Drew Thaler at the Storie di Apple website.
